HB 707 will be debated and voted on in the House Civil Law and Procedure Committee (Room 4) on Tuesday, May 19. We are packing the committee room with at least 100 Louisianians who support equality to show our state's leaders that this bill does not represent Louisiana values.

Our side is wearing red in solidarity against HB 707! Don't worry if you don't have any red in your closet, we'll be supplying red ribbons for folks to wear. A few people have asked about dress code. You are welcome to wear comfortable clothes, but know that folks tend to dress up at the Capitol. Don't feel like you need to dress up and don't let that keep you for joining us!
At 8 am we will meet on the Capitol steps for a pre-hearing meet up to discuss what to expect in the committee hearing, answer questions, and walk folks down to the committee room together.
35+ community organizations, 100+ faith leaders and 85+ businesses throughout the state have joined the #NotMyLouisiana campaign to oppose HB 707 because it does not represent the values of the people in our state. Instead, it singles out a specific religious belief about marriage and grants a right to discriminate to people who hold that belief.
This bill is simply bad for business, bad for the community and bad for Louisiana. With your help we can absolutely defeat this legislation!
It's going to be a big day and we look forward to seeing you there!
